Please join us for our annual gathering Under the Tent of Abraham, Sarah and Hagar!
The Abrahamic family has crystallized mainly into three religious communities — Judaism, Christianity and Islam. Our Tent of Abraham series began in 2006 when we celebrated the confluence of our holy days with stories from our faith traditions. Now, in our 15th year of coming together, we will share stories about bridge builders; tales of individuals or groups promoting peaceful coexistence.
Our guest tellers are:
- Deacon Walter Ayers, Director of the Commission on Peace and Justice, Catholic Diocese of Albany, serves at St. Mary’s and Sacred Heart Church.
- Imam Djafer Sebkhaoui, spiritual leader and co-founder of the Al-Hidaya Center in Latham, mosque in Troy, and a member of the Sidney Albert Interfaith Board.
- Rabbi Susan Gulack, a member of Congregation Ohav Shalom, serves as a chaplain in New York State prisons and is a long-time storyteller.
Come share your stories (traditional, scriptural or personal) related to the theme or just come to listen. Either way, you will be warmly welcomed
